EPIP7, 7th International Conference on English Pronunciation: Issues & Practices

EPIP7 aura lieu à Grenoble, France, après les réunions précédentes à Skopje, Macédoine du Nord (2019), Caen, France (2017), Prague, République tchèque (2015), Murcia, Espagne (2013), Grahamstown, Afrique du Sud (2011) et Chambéry, France (2009).

La conférence réunit des chercheurs et des enseignants d'anglais, de phonétique, de phonologie, de SLA et d'EFL/ESL intéressés par les questions relatives à la prononciation de l'anglais, comme langue maternelle ou autre.

En 2022, un événement sœur Accents : Perspectives Sociolinguistiques aura également lieu, organisée par les collègues sociolinguistes et de FLE (français langue étrangère) à UGA. Elle se tiendra la veille du début de l'EPIP7, avec une table ronde spéciale du jeudi "matin mixte" en français et en anglais. L'inscription à l'une des conférences permet aux participants d'accéder à l'autre sans frais supplémentaires.

Le comité d'organisation accueille les propositions sur divers aspects de la recherche sur la prononciation anglaise, tels :

• Les recherches sur la prononciation d'une langue non-maternelle : méthodologies & applications 
• L'enseignement de la prononciation (formation des enseignants, la cognition enseignant, etc.)
• Implications pédagogiques de la recherche (objectifs, méthodes d'enseignement, l'évaluation, etc.)
• Applications de la recherche sur la prononciation
• Les technologies de l'information et de la communication dans l'enseignement/l'apprentissage de la prononciation
• Aspects sociolinguistiques d'une variété orale marquée par un accent & questions d'identité
• Études contrastives : Interactions entre les systèmes sonores L1 et L2
• Les changements phonologiques
• Méthodologie de l'étude des accents
• Normes & accents de référence
• Accents natifs & non-natifs de l'anglais (acquisition, variabilité, etc.)
• Approches interdisciplinaires de la recherche sur l'anglais langue seconde et l'anglais langue étrangère
• Analyses de la politique linguistique nationale ou régionale

Langues: Anglais & français (pour toutes autres langues, les supports utilisés lors de la présentation orale doivent être en anglais ou en français)

The 7th International Conference on English Pronunciation: Issues & Practices will take place in Grenoble, France following previous meetings in Skopje, North Macedonia (2019), Caen, France (2017), Prague, Czech Republic (2015), Murcia, Spain (2013), Grahamstown, South Africa (2011) and Chambéry, France (2009).

The conference brings together researchers and teachers of English, phonetics, phonology, SLA and EFL/ESL interested in the issues relevant to English pronunciation, both native and non-native.

In 2022, a sister-event Accents: Perspectives Sociolinguistiques will also take place as it is organized by the colleagues in sociolinguistics and French as a Foreign Language of Grenoble. This will be held the day before EPIP7 begins, with a special Thursday "mixed morning" round table in French and in English. Registration at one of the conferences gives participants access to the other with no additional fees.

The Organizing committee welcomes proposals on various aspects of research into English pronunciation including (but not limited to) the following topics:

• L2 pronunciation research: methodology and application 
• Teaching pronunciation (teacher training, teachers’ views and beliefs, etc.)
• Pedagogical implications of pronunciation research (goals, teaching methods, assessment, etc.)
• Applications of pronunciation research
• Information and communication technology  in pronunciation teaching/learning
• Sociolinguistic aspects of accented speech and issues of identity
• Contrastive studies: interaction between L1 and L2 sound systems
• Phonological change
• Methodology of accent studies
• Norms and reference accents
• Native and non-native accents of English (acquisition, variability, etc.)
• Interdisciplinary approaches to ESL/EFL research
• Analyses of national or regional language policy

Languages: English & French (or other languages, but the slides and/or hand-outs have to be in English or French)
