In 2024 I became a Full Professor at UGA and assumed the responsibility of  assistant director of the LIDILEM research unit.

In 2009 I initiated the international, bi-annual conference English Pronunciation: Issues & Practices, with the 8th edition being organized in May 2024 at the University of Cantabria, Spain (https://epip8.unican.es/). Since then, my research has been centred primarily on:

- teaching and learning the pronunciation of English as an additional language

- listener training, to promote greater comprehensibility and intelligibility as well as tolerance of variation in spoken language (esp. in English and French).

Enseignement

I currently teach English for Specific Purposes (ESP) to Science & Technology students at Université Grenoble-Alpes (UGA). For 24 years at another French university I taught English phonetics and phonology to English majors, as well as ESP to students majoring in the Humanities.

In addition to training English teachers and CLIL teachers in France, I have also been involved in training future English teachers in Czechia, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Spain.
