The Philosophy Department of the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and the LiDiLEM Laboratory, Univ. Grenoble Alpes is co-organizing a workshop entitled "Direct interaction, methods of research, epistemology, and conceptualization”.

June 2nd – 4th, 2022

Hybrid event hosted by the Dept. of Philosophy of Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca in the central building of the university, M. Kogalniceanu street, No 1, 1st floor.
Working languages: French and English
The purpose of this workshop is to question the methods of research and investigation and the epistemological models that underlie the models of description and understanding of what is at stake in an interaction. We want to combine the conceptualizations and methodologies at work in the study of various forms of interaction: human-human, human-animal, human-machine, etc. We therefore invited researchers in philosophy, language sciences, psychology, conversational analysis, etc. who work on interactions to present their "work in progress", to propose it for collective reflection during a three-days exchange.
A few questions will be worked on:
  • What is an interaction? How do you define it in your field? Is it a concept or just a word?
  • Which are your analysis tools?
  • What theoretical models of interaction are you employing and how can these models be used to understand what is at stake in an empirical interaction?
